Virus inactivation of plasma-derived products is effective against Zika-virus

In 2016 the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the mosquito-borne Zika virus a public health emergency of international concern. Recently, the prestigious journal Transfusion published the results of  a study in which it was demonstrated that the viral inactivation of plasma-derived products with solvent/detergent and pasteurization is effective also against Zika virus.
